Sheet Metal Design

Assisted in the design & development of a product consisting of rectangular structural tubing and sheet metal components. A non-discloser agreement remains in effect.

This product is to have an advertised load rating. Design work included constructing a solid model, and performing a detailed non-linear stress analysis of the product.

One of the main challenges was developing a set of detailed drawings to be used for overseas manufacturing. Details often taken for granted when using a "state side" manufacturer, now had to be addressed. In particular, this necessitated a careful review of material standards.
