Threaded Connections

A Analytic, LLC

Excellence in Engineering Analysis

Need to know how much radial deflection will occur in a hollow threaded connection for a given axial load?  We can perform a finite element analysis on all sizes and grades of Unified, American National, Acme and Stub Acme threads!   This analysis can be performed using any material; metal or polymer!

You provide us with the engineering parameters:

1)  Thread type

2)  Grade

3)  Diameter & Length

4)  Threads / inch

5)  Material

6)  Makeup torque & applied load

7)  Other specific geometry

  • O-Ring Grooves

  • Thread Relief, etc.

We provide you with contour plots of deflections & stresses, and a video clip simulation showing changes in the connection as the load is applied.                                    (Example Clip 568 KB)

If the material you specify has a non-linear stress - strain relationship (e.g. Delrin, Nylon, etc.), a nonlinear finite element analysis can be performed, giving much more detailed information.
