Silo Pressure Profile (cont.) |
|
The above envelope of normal wall pressures (excluding hydrostatic pressure), with a pressure spike at the cone / cylinder interface, is a possible worst case condition that could exist under the following circumstance: 1) The silo is drained to the cone top level, 2) Then the silo is filled to the top. This combination of operations would leave a passive stress field in the cone and an active stress field in the cylinder compartment. However, other operation sequences can produce a pressure spike further up the silo wall. Home | Our Team | Education & Capability | Recent Work | Assistance |
